The Schumpeter Center for Innovation and Public Policy (SCIPP) is a Public Innovation Lab for applied research and education on innovation – to confront the grand societal challenges of our time.
Located at Goethe University Frankfurt, we operate right in the heart of Europe’s most international and dynamic metropolitan region FrankfurtRheinMain.
Joseph A. Schumpeter, eminent economist and sociologist (1883-1950) and namesake of our Center, pioneered innovation research.
Schumpeter’s theory of entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development inspires us in research and teaching.
Our applied research addresses entrepreneurship, technological and organisational innovation, as well as economic, industrial and technology policies.
SCIPP Projects and Publications
International research cooperation involves universities and research institutes, as well as firms, governments, labour unions and industry associations.
Our activities in academic education relate to Goethe University Frankfurt’s Chair of Political Economy and Economic Sociology.
We also provide platforms for professional and executive education with local and international partners from the public and private sector, among others involving Goethe Business School.
